Let's Go To The Beach-Beach

Let's go get away!
For our pre-anniversary trip we took a trip to Destin, Florida. We had been there before, and loved it. It happened to be just a few hours away from us so it was easy peasy to get there. It is definitely different to vacation with a baby but we still had some fun.

We all enjoyed the space of a KING size bed...

...an awesome view from our balcony...

...some amazingly soft sand...

(I forgot to grab E's hat so he had to wear my bandana!)

He loves to reach as far as his little fingers can..

Just hangin out a little after some fun snorkling

The water right beneath our balcony

A wonderful sunset

Little man with his hat as we walked around a little boardwalk area before we headed back to New Orleans.
All in all it was a pretty great trip. I love getting away with my little fam bam!

Not So Baby, Baby Boy

On September 2nd Everett was 5 months old. I decided to take a few cute pictures....

Then I had a little fun....

And he was starting to get really annoyed....

I just about died laughing at these pictures, so I hope everyone else enjoys them! Everett is trying so hard to move but can currently (for the most part) only go backwards. He gets so frustrated that he can't get the toys right in front of him. He loves his food, and we've been giving him little bits of our foods as we eat. He even had some Coca-Cola :) He's teething and a pain in the butt, we just started teething tablets that seem to be helping. My sister Nicole bought him an amber teething necklace today so we will see if that works! Cross your fingers!

From Monroe to New Orleans

A few weeks ago (yes, I am finally catching up) we moved from our hotel in Monroe, Louisiana down to New Orleans. It was supposed to be about a 4-5 hour drive, but because of Hurricane Isaac (which missed us up in Monroe) there was a ton of roads closed due to flooding. We ended up taking a million different detours, some just to sight see, making our trip closer to 7-8 hours. We made it safely though! We are now in apartments right smack in the middle of downtown. We take walks everyday to explore and it is pretty fun. The apartments are very artsy and modern with a little media room which has theater seating and a projector screen. We've used that a few times to watch our Redbox movies :) I snapped a few pictures of our little trip. Most of them are on my phone so I need to figure out how to get those on here and then I'll do a whole post of phone pictures!!! In the mean time, here's the camera ones :)

We stopped to take a look at the Mississippi River

Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo

Today after we had taken our after church naps we headed over to the little zoo here in Monroe. It was extremely cheap and in a not so awesome looking neighborhood so we weren't certain how great it would be. But it was wonderful! I didn't take a ton of pictures because Ev was tired and hot, and I was too into the animals :)

This second attempt cracks me up...^^^

The gibbons and monkeys were our favorites. They were really the only ones that interacted with us. They were so close that when Chris held his hat out, one of the monkeys grabbed it! So goofy. It was a little hot, but still so pretty to walk around in such a green setting.

Little Everettus

Chris has been calling our darling son "Everettus", it's goofy... but quite catchy. When I was in Arizona last month I took Ev in for his check up. Usually he would have had one at 2 months and one at 4 months, but I was home for neither of those. He was 3 1/2 months when we went in. His measurements were as follows:
Weight- 13lbs (25th percentile)
Length- 25in (85th percentile)
Head- I don't remember but it was the 35th percentile!
Here he is!

He will be 5 months old in about a week. He loves all kinds of baby food and rice/oatmeal cereal. We also bought him a little mesh holder with a plastic handle that can hold other fruits or ice. He loves bananas, mangos, kiwis, strawberries and just about anything else we put in there. He has become very goofy, making tons of noise and trying to do some weird blowing noise with his mouth and tongue. He can roll all over the place, he has started to try really hard to get him grippy toes to push off the ground and scoot.. so far he can only go in circles though! He absolutely loves to watch Yo Gabba Gabba on the iPad (he is definitely his fathers son), and he will stare intensely at any screen... even if it's off. I try to take him swimming a few times a week. He splashes like a nut and has a blast watching the water. He tries way too hard to stay awake lately. I begin to go a little nuts and have given into rocking him to sleep. We think he is teething, which explains some of his craziness, but it makes it pain during the day when he refuses to nap. Not only is he aching from his teeth but he is also tired beyond reason. He still likes to be swaddled really tightly, then I rock him and sing "Give said the little stream". I've tried other songs, that's the only one that works 100% of the time! We love this goofy man of ours and feel very blessed to be his parents! I have a ton of pictures I'd like to upload from my phone so hopefully there will be another Ev update soon!
